Sputterbird Spreader Bars
This “Sputterbird Spreader Bar” has muliple “Sputterbird” teasers directly behind the bar. This makes the bar shake and transmits this to the other squid. The “Sputterbirds” also follows the surface of the waves so the bar stays on the surface.
Vibrations travel down the center line to the stinger attached at the rear. The stinger also vibrates and moves by the action of the "Sputterbirds" which make the stinger look alive and struggling. Use of the Sputterbird teasers behind the bar allows you to run the the bar farther back from the boat.
The “Sputterbird Spreader Bar” is constructed with 400 lb. clear Jinkai line attached to a 36" stainless steel bar using heavy weight crimps and line protectors. Multiple lines drop back carrying 10 squid of varying colors and sizes. The last squid contains a hidden snap swivel for attaching a stinger. It is best to use a stinger with a nose weight to run 1-2 feet below the surface.
The “Sputterbird 17 Spreader Bar” is recommended for large fish as a teaser or lure by attaching a large stinger. It uses three #7 “Sputterbirds” behind a 48" spreader bar with twelve 15” plastic squids. It can be used with a greenstick rig to produce extra resistance and commotion.
